Default Re: Gen VI 489ci bored .020 & stroked to 502ci 10.2"

Stand by for change 1,342... I got the GM intake yesterday. It's going back. It just doesn't appear to be a quality piece. It's 1/8" short at the rear and over hangs the front by 1/4". All the cast printing isn't crisp either. It looks like a picture that's out of focus. Not to be too nitpicky, but when I pay $400 for something I expect a little more.
So... I reassessed my intake spacers and have decided to make that work. At least that will leave me with oval ports and readily available intakes. I think I'll be able to make it look good with a little added attention to detail.
The final issues now are the dizzy and alternator brackets. The brackets should be easy. I ordered a set of a/m stock style 69 bb brackets. I'll cut and extend the two places where they need it. When I'm done nobody will notice I'll bet.
The distributor. I spent a lot of time trying to find a vacuum advance, slip collar, non external ignition box set up. There's plenty of slip collars, but they all have mechanical advance only. I want the vacuum advance.
I ordered an inexpensive distributor that has the vacuum advance and slip collar. I wouldn't trust the module etc though. If I'm ok with the durability of the body, I'll try to swap my Pertronix III module over to it and make it a nice dizzy. If that doesn't work, I'm going to machine off the collar on my stock style distributor and add a slip collar.

Trying to keep with the stock look.
