69 L78 Camaro
The weather on Long Island has been fantastic. I decided to take this car for ride on Sunday. I pulled the car out of the garage and down the driveway, as I put it in first I glanced at the oil pressure gauge and guess what it read zero. I looked at the driveway and what I saw is pictured below. My normal routine is to alway check the gauges but for some reason failed to do so. I lost 2.5 qts of oil in a minute or so because my oil line came out of block fitting, hence oil was pouring out. I reinstalled the line with new compression fittings and good to go. I was not pleased that I hadn't monitored the gauge more closely but luckily a disaster was averted.
This is a first and lesson learned. I owned a dusk blue rs/z and the original owner was driving his new z from Chicago to college in Syracuse, Ny, and the oil line broke and poured a qt of oil on the passenger side floor. I have a letter where he's chastising the salesman and dealership for the incident.
