I've already been through this thread about four times. I think I'm going to have to seriously try to make it out to this show next year.
Did you happen to take a picture of the board with all the documents on that red 65 Impala SS409? I'd LOVE to see the docs on a numbers matching dual quad 409 car with A/C. What a find! </div></div>
The paperwork with that car was original and it showed it was originally a 340hp 409 with A/C. A previous owner added the dual quad top end. There were no 425hp 409s built in 1965. And there were no 400hp solid lifter 409s built with A/C. I'm sure you already knew that. It WAS a real '65 409, so Bob decided it belonged it the display. It was a last minute surprise to me but I wasn't able to find a real '61 or '65 that was able to be there.
Your '65 is the only REAL REAL one I knew of but you weren't able to bring it, which I regret.

Verne.. Please don't insinuate that the 65 that was part of the display is no longer a real 409 car. It might not be modified to your liking but it is still a neat and very real 409. </div></div>
Charley, That's what I meant when I said it WAS a real one, meaning when it was in the show, it was. Same as IS. Sorry for any misunderstanding. The paperwork confirms it was/is a real one.
