Default Re: '55 Convertitruck

Is the purpose of this post to garner a laugh? I think that this 'thing' is pretty cool (maybe not the response expected on this forum). I am intrigued with Ole American ingenuity. Obvious intent was a farm vehicle/tractor. I have a very similar setup a 95 year old friend made and I got it from his family upon his passing. Will have to take some pics. Mine uses a Ford Model A drive train grafted to a large truck (guy worked at the electric power co.) It looks like the same trans. as this vehicle. Mine also has duals on rear. Two transmissions. Second trans. has a PTO which powers a winch on the back. My friend who made this was a very good welder and fabricator. He told me he did not have money for things, so he made them. He made his own bushhog from a car axle with one side axle tube cut off & welded over. He also made a log splitter and several attachments for his homemade tractor. There is evidence of a hydraulic pump on the front, although it is now missing.

Although there are some good parts there for a 55 restorarion, I would find it hard to part out someones handi-work. Anyone able to bring down to Ohio?
