Don't be worrying about the left over holes in the firewall, and the surface rust on the u-joint on the steering column. All will be taken care of! Sooooo..in wanting to make sure no aftermarket things are staring you in the face, I decided to hide the GenII Heat/Defroster behind the old beehive heater cover. Also, I mounted the heater control valve right beside the core and made a cover that's attached to the original one. I painted this in the old hammertone finish, and added the Recirc Decal too! I'll add another one that has the part number on it. Why not? I'm getting all dorky with mixing all the years up, might as well max out on the dorkness! I'm not sure if that's a word or not, so we'll move on. I mounted the controls for the heater in the dash and will eventually replace those knobs with the maroon ones that match the cowl vent and shifter handle. I think it'll tie in the whole dash. The column will be painted black. I just haven't gotten there yet!
The last picture is the stock heater. I'm not done with the details on the aluminum trim panels yet. I need to hand paint the logos on all three panels, then clearcoat it. The defroster ducts round up and out of the top of this heater cover so they aren't see when you look inside.
Cheers
