The class designation on that Vette does not look like an NHRA Class to me.
The 4 is the DIV # and that would not be an NHRA # because Virginia is a DIV-1 and touches some DIV-2, I believe. </div></div>

Virginia Motorsports Park wasn't built until the 1990's. There was however Richmond Dragway run by Dan Wise. Before Dan opened Richmond he ran Emporia Dragstrip which was at the Emporia Airport. I can remember being there watching Dave Strickland and Bill Jenkins running the '62 Chevy and they would have to stop the races for a plane to land or take off
