Maybe not any KID, but there are plenty of old Stock, Super/Stock guys that will tell you the same thing!!!! A certain old SS guy who was also nation F/C champ told me this with my '69 Nova. BUT they just need to be installed correctly. But with today's technology, we have got away from that and are using leaf spring "sliders" and roller bearing to achieve the very same thing the shackles did..
