I don't know much about them. They had suspension upgrades and I think a better exhaust system; otherwise the driveline was stock. I think they prototyped one with a 5.0, but that never went anywhere. Too bad, since a basic 2wd Ranger was a solid 300 pounds lighter than the lightest Mustang notch. Would've been an animal with a stock HO in it.
I know Saleen campaigned a few in a truck series SCCA had at the time. I've heard that a handful of "R Model" Rangers were available for purchase from Saleen, but I couldn't say if that's true or just another story, or what mods may have been done to them. Either way, neat little truck and definitely a product of the 80s mini-truck fad.
