Thanks Guys! Hmmm, you may be onto something there Mike. I have Big Block Dodge, now a Small Block Dodge, and a SBC in my 64 Vette. Guess that seals it. I don't need to be convinced anymore. I'll just take one of Phil's cars. Maybe that nasty orange one he has. He'll never get around to it anyway!!!!
Here's a few pics. Burnt Orange, black top/interior/stripe. A few things incorrect on the resto, but that's the fun part: non-painted bypass hose, non-dated hoses, no overspray on exhaust manifolds/trans, no undercarriage inspection marks, wrong year idle solenoid and incorrect wire lead to it, wrong ballast resistor, wrong ignition box. You know, all that trivial BS that, while any other human on the planet would say, "Dude! Nice car!" we all would say, "Can't believe he'd take that car our like that. What a disgrace. An injustice to humanity!!!!!"
No Gator Grain, but I wish! This car is actually an original non-vinyl top car as well as a Burnt Orange interior to match. When it was restored, those two items were changed and rightly so in my opinion. It can always be changed, but that black breaks up all that Burnt Orange and looks spot on IMO. Only about 5% of Mopes came with the Gator option and it's pretty rare. An interesting fact with those. They were only one color: Black. But when new, they were actually a dark brownish color from the final dye application. That wore off pretty quickly in the sun/weather, and as a result, the black color came through pretty quickly. I've seen it up close before, and it's pretty cool and draws in the crowd. But watch out for the PETA loving, Granola Eating, Sandal Wearing, Uneducated ASSumers out there. You might get egged when they think that's actually a real alligator top.
