Re: Photos from MCACN 2014
A beautiful black Cougar, and then a blue XR-7 convertible 428CJ 4-speed from the Styles Collection (the red one next to it is also theirs). The blue XR-7 was tagged as a "Test Car" on the Marti Report.
Our friend Tim Dye from the Pontiac Museum brought out ex-Pontiac Engineer Tom Goad's 1973 Grand Am Wagon, a special one-off that Tom had built for him (it was nice being in the Pontiac Engineering Department in the 60's and 70's), and the invoice shows the car was billed to Tom, not to a dealer. Only the second such invoice we've ever found like that. The car was built as a loaded 1973 LeMans station wagon, then Pontiac Engineering converted it to the Grand Am nose, they added the 1973 Ram Air setup (1 of only 5 known to exist, and Tom Goad owns 2 of the 5 known Ram Air setups), and they added a powered sunroof, another option never available on the wagons. A truly unique car, it was proposed to Pontiac, and thus became a prototype.
