A couple of pics on what has been a pretty quiet time for the Chevelle. It's been a little like the red headed step child of late as we have using our Nova a bit. But it is now time for that to move on and we have it up for sale. It's been a great car but it needs to go. We are planning on attending next years MCACN as well as a visit to Pavilions in Phoenix so I need to turn over a couple of cars in the meantime. Given summer is upon us here I thought I might pull the Chevelle out of hibernation and look at a couple of the things that need attention. Hasn't really seen the light of day since the Gasolene show in Melbourne in June.

It's has issues with the fuel gauge since day 1 of my ownership, so I am working thru that at the moment by the process of elimination. I pulled the tank out on the weekend, although the sender tested ok with the tank in the car, just to make sure there was nothing funky going on under there. No build sheet under there unfortunately! One of the things I love about this car is that it is in such nice shape. It has all of its factory sheet metal and save for a couple of small rust repairs in the bottom of each fender about the size of a quarter, no other rust or collision damage. It's just a shame that when someone before me decided to repaint the car the incorrect colour on top, they also painted the underside, firewall and radiator support in full gloss black. A large job to put back to factory semi gloss but hopefully that will happen one day. Not really loving the yellow springs and shocks either but that will be easily fixed in the future.

I will finally have the interior material in about a week from our friends at SMS. It has taken almost a year but hopefully when it arrives it is correct, as per the samples they provided and I can get the seats to the trimmer. I will also have a correct booster, prop valve and master from Steve at Brake Boosters shortly as well and can get to installing that as well as some other hoses and lines to clean up the engine bay. Steve was great to deal with and the quality of his parts look first rate.
