Great shots Chris. I also am 100% sure the non vented cap in your picture is correct for the 69 Chevelle car. Easy cap to find in NOS condition, look for Stant G32, Mopar used these too.
I also understand the wagons and Elky's use a vented cap, what I do not know for sure is weather it had the "Anti Surge feature" like the one in your picture, and the cap Kurt bought. I suspect it may have been this cap in the photo below. "Vented with no anti surge popet" most likley not needed because of the location of the fillere neck on these vehicals

On a side note on the Round no ears anti surge cap Stant G46a, these were used starting around 1962 through at least 1970 across the GM line. Does any one know when the cap with the 2 ears started showing up ?
Chris, I have had several caps with the handle assembled either way, most likley just the way they stacked the parts during assembly ? The tabs still end up on the centerline.
