I figured there might be a comment on the firewall number. I have read in various places the number marked on the firewall was the paint code and I have read in other places that number had nothing to do with paint. The picture of the engine compartment below was taken in 1969 soon after the original owner took delivery. When I was putting the car back together I had the photo blown up as much as the quality of the picture would allow. The number 57 was the best I could make out. The remainder of the engine compartment was restored using the photograph including the yellow paint spilling over the edge of the cowl.
The number 76 is the correct code for Daytona Yellow and I don't believe it was a special order color.
