I called Ansen a few years back to ask about old stock they might have on their steel parts- like traction bars and such. I posted some pics of the 3 pairs of traction bars they had squired away- which I bought. They didn't have anything else, but I did speak to a fellow who was involved with the steel stuff back then. He told me they were one of the pioneers in hydro-formed bell housings. Claimed it was done in Texas, I think. He also said the tooling was still down there as of 2006 or so. Anyways, he told me the early Lakewood hydro-formed steel scatter shields were done by Ansen. I am kinda cloudy on the details, but I think he was saying the same part was offered by them both.
Anyways, I'm throwing it out there to compare the two in your searches. Probably the shape changed for Lakewood once they sourced their own tooling for a hydro-formed unit.
