Re: Dave Belk's 1973 Nickey Camaro! WOW!!!!
Hi Rick! Ricks work was purely "correction" items. Very pleased with his work. I never intended on a sub-frame off restoration as I just didn't feel it needed it, and it was going to be driven. Interior was main thing that needed finished. I found 1973 vintage interior parts, all on E-Bay. Those seat belts are not easy to find. They are the "exploding buckle" one year only buckle. Lucked out and found a mint dated set. I called a guy that had a 1973 Camaro for sale and I asked if he would part with the seat belts, and I couldn't believe it, but he had an extra mint set dated for my car. That was a needle in a haystack!
The 2 engine shots above are before / after. Rick rebuilt a distributor and got rid of the MSD set-up, mfg'd a fuel line, blasted intake, replaced some incorrect bolts, got rid of the brake booster as it never had power brakes, distributor cap/wires. Nothing to major. Just wanted it to look like the original picture of engine bay posted above. I have the fly eye air cleaner, but just don't run a car with those on, for show only. I started to do the guage cluster myself, and in about 5 minutes I was calling Rick.
