Thanks for the help on this issue. I am always amazed by the wide range of info that members here are willing to share. I posted this on the GTO forum only to hear crickets.
Here are a few pictures of the original air cleaner. I was out of town and couldn't get any before today. The air cleaner instructions even say "Heavy Duty Air Cleaner". Never knew that was an option. Thanks Mike!!
Anyway, here are some photos of what is on the car. I presume this to be original to the car.
My plans for the car are to restore it some day. It has a cylinder with low compression that I have diagnosed to either a head gasket, rings or piston. That will be next winter's project.
