Re: Bill Car Star Elmira
This should be about the authenticity of ZL1 # 48 but it looks like it has degraded into personal attacks. I guess it is a crime to fix cars with rust.
The owner of this ZL1 # 48 supplied pictures that were previously posted. It appears there were more than 1 vehicle with the serial # of ZL1 # 48 stamped into it as noted by the vin stamp pictures. The example painted at Carstar had sheet-metal dates in June '69, obviously not correct for ZL1 # 48. At this point all we know is that there is at least one 1969 Camaro painted lemans Blue with the ZL1 # 48 vin, a repro trim tag with incorrect BDY #, Canadian title with no real history, no drivetrain and questionable paperwork.
I guess for a potential $ 500k sale no one should question anything about the car, let the buyer beware and keep our mouths shut. That would be best for the hobby I guess, and lets attack the honest guys in the hobby for caring about the cars more than the money.
I don't think this car will ever see the real Gibb paperwork for ZL1 # 48.
