Re: I got some info on that SRD built 70 Camaro
Richard "Dick" Green was a fellow from Baltimore, MD (still is) who had his own used car lot in Baltimore years ago and actually did do some NHRA racing. And, he won a National event, I think the Summernationals (but don't quote me on that) and claimed he had a real ZL-1 '69 Camaro---I heard it WAS real minus the motor (or correct one) and claimed to have one of Jenkin's used Pro Stock cars that was a '70s style. I saw the ZL-1 it was MANY years ago and I think he sold it when they just started to escalate in price. The Pro Stock, again, is "claimed" and could be (I don't know for sure--if anybody REALLY does)an ex-Jenkin's Pro Stock cars. I have never seen the race car. Remember, that 40 years ago, nobody really cared who's cars were who's and now that REAL cars are worth something, sometimes the truth begins to become more "gray" than just black and white. You know the old saying---"The older the story is, the faster the car was."
