I am afraid I am going to have to do a "I thought" on you here. In 1971 you had a transmission choice with the 442 and W-30. Neither came standard with the M-22. I am going to have to defer to my friend Paul the keeper of the 1971 w-30 list for this fun fact. Oldsmobile buyers did not want a noisy transmission in their luxury performance cars so they were discontinued for 1972. My friend John has a M-22 in his 71 but I recall a few don't have the M-22.
