Default Re: 1969 Camaro Brake Line Clips

Hello CamaroNOS,

As mentioned in the other clip post the 5/16" came in a transparent blue or green marking dye. It is not paint.

Anchor was the manufacture. 4 is the style (i.e. parts books would list 3952718 type 4 tang 5/16" pipe with 23/32" reach, Dark Green)

The blue is the same color as the one in the other post just transparent. The green above is a fair example of the green transparent dye. It is a bright green. Being transparent is why it appears so hard to match.

If you did not want to use marking dye, you would need to mix some clear model paint with some green to simulate the look. More clear than green. Just brush it on. The originals were dipped anyway so not a perfect finish.

One sort of close match would be the Testors 1601 Transparent Emerald Green Candy Spray Bomb. The top to the can is a good match. Just the candy throws it off in the actual paint. Pic below is close to the shade of green.

I have not tried it, but Transparent Green Jacquard Airbrush Paint might be close too.

hope this helps,
Greg
