Re: 1969 Camaro Brake Line Clips
Personally, I would not rely on any vendor for correctness on detail items like this. Terms like "technically correct" "assembly line correct" and "exact match" mean NOTHING, other than most people will never know the difference.
My biggest problem in trying to duplicate this color was finding enough original finish for the clues.
The few that still had color were degraded pretty bad. I had ONE that still had some decent color. Of course, I didn't keep that one untouched. Attached is one of my old unrestored ones showing just a little bit of color next to one I painted. I had extras that I pirated off an extra subframe back in the 90's.
I just got a can of the 500 degree ceramic based (at least that's what is says on the label - who knows what is in it?) rattle can by Duplicolor. If baked on, the stuff is incredibly hard.
The one on the right is Chevrolet blue engine paint. Actually Chrysler blue may be a better match. And if you can find some in the old Pontiac Blue, it would be close as well. Baked it for about an hour in the oven suspended with wire.
Also... just as an aside. There may have been two different suppliers for these, and if so, I suspect slight color variations. Most of mine have the anchor symbol, but some have a "4" in a circle logo.
