Re: ZL1 Assembly Line
My uncle who used to work as head photographer for a large advertising Co. (TDF I believe it was called) that did a lot of GM ads and dealer brochures in the 60's and 70's had access to the production line and I even recall him taking my Dad on a tour with him to the Oshawa plant to watch assembly operations at one point..
He also told me that he once followed a car from beginning to end, that he was to get to use as a model for promotionary photos in early 1969 I believe, down the line as it was assembled and spoke to some of the guys who were doing it as it went along..
He always joked that it was the worse car he ever drove for rattles and squeaks and blamed it on 'too many nuts and bolts used and tightened the way they were supposed to be, because someone was watching! - Ha!
So to answer your question - YES (I guess if you had some connections)..
