nothing will beat the correct ORIGINAL born with parts, but service replacement parts I guess is a close 3rd (2nd would be date and code correct but NOT the "born with" part), at least IMHO ...
Ideally <span style="font-weight: bold">IF</span> you use a service replacement part there <span style="font-style: italic">should</span> be a paper trail (real, not made up) that shows when it was done. And along that line, service replacement dates would typically NOT be related to the build date of the VIN, ie the car was driven gently to be broken in for the suggested period THEN taken to the drag strip where the marginally talented Ricky Racer original owner blew the ______________ (fill in your mechanical component) sky high and the dealer replaced it under warranty.
That said, the car could have sat on the lot unsold for months and when the destruction of the _______________ occurred it could be several months (or even a year or more) after the actual build date of the VIN (or body trim tag) ...
