I am curious: for you Canadians, when you go to a new car dealer, is there a similar window sticker even in the window on cars up there? The reason we have them in the US is due to the 1959 law that was sponsored by Senator Munroney, (the reason window stickers are called "Munroneys"
. The law made it mandatory that specific items had to be listed on a sheet in the window of every new car or face a serious fine for each offense. This consumer protection law was the result of too many dealer ripoffs of customers being charged extra for items that were already standard equipment.
