Default Iceland 68 Camaro restoration

With all the BS we see and read about lately I thought it would be nice to post something chearful for a change. About 2 years ago, a gentleman by the name of Skuli from Iceland purchased a used 68 Camaro from a midwest Muscle Car dealer. Very long story made very short, the car was delivered to Iceland and was ANYTHING like described and was pretty much a rolling piece of junk with MANY issues. Don't bother with the "shoulda's", he has heard them all. Skuli posted a thread on Team Chevelle in hopes of people reading about the dealer to warn others and was willing to let it go from there. Instead, I and a few others got behind him and proded him a little, no....make that a lot! I have NO time for fake cars or unscrupulous dealers and made it a quest to see that he get some satisfaction. He worked with the dealer and got some of his money back, likely not enough to cover his freight to get the car to Iceland but maybe enough to start the restoration over.

Over the next 17 months, Skuli and his son tore the car down to a bare bird cage and started restoring the car over again all the while keeping me abreast via photos and YouTube updates and I would help on my end with moral support and answers to tech questions. The amount of damage that was hidden was unbelievable but they perservered. Because of this situation, I have made a new friend from a far, Skuli is closer to his son and now owns a beautiful Camaro today that he and his son restored together. He is now proud to drive an American muscle car in Iceland.

Here are some photos of the car as it sits today after 2000 hours and 17 months of weekend restoration work. You can read about the complete story over at Team Chevelle at;
