Hello Rich,

Most Original Novas in 69 and 70 were silver painted horn shroud trim. I have yet to run across a true original survivor with a overlay.

The rosewood insert was an overlay (not considered standard on the Nova). Parts counter shrouds could come either way. The Nova was the cheap car and not much expense was put forth. The Camaro and Chevelle probably had the aluminumized overlay for the upper models.

At least that is the trend. Never say never with these cars. These shrouds did tend to crack and over time were replaced so it makes it difficult to tell a survivor from a early replacement.
