I just educated myself on the web, and read carter made a competion series thermoquad, discontinued in the mid 70s. pretty rare. just finished rebuilding 2 of the standard 780cfm ones. I think they are very cool, and that is why those competition one caught me eye. 2 separate floats in each (complex but cool!). For me, I saw these mostly as a chrysler thing, if you consider the 70-75 time frame. But competition series is good for any car make. There are numbers somewhere on how the phenolic body added horsepower on the mopar standard applications just by cooling down the fuel, it was substantial. Probably very improtant at the starting line. That 70 car was using every trick then to get the best horsepower.

yeah, I can see getting parts for that carb would not be fun. love the way that engine looks.
