You just can't follow the old forumla as closely anymore and be street legal. I sure wish they would offer a no-frills car with the minimum of road legal crash saftey equiment and a mild motor. Possibly a low compression 8 with a decent set of rods for a quick over the counter forced induction kit ala the "crossram in the trunk" legacy.
Fortunatly there are options like the Nickey Cars they help some guys.
I'm sure they will sell plenty of these to racers, and I look forward to seeing what people do with them. </div></div>
The EPA & NHTSA pretty much screw up the plans of any dedicated "street legal" drag car...this car pretty much follows the lead (albeit several years late [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif[/img]) of the FoMoCo CJ and Mopar DP cars. Heck, last I knew there wasn't even a street legal version of any of the 2008+ Mustangs listed in the NHRA classification guide? This is still just a concept car, but I wonder if GM has thought far enough ahead into the future to give this car a favorable NHRA factor like the CJ & DP both have?
