As always, great to spend time with old friends, and meet new ones. Mix in some really cool cars, many doing their thing on the drag strip, does not get any better then that.

Thanks to RT 66 Raceway for allowing us to spend the day at their facility. Talk about big time, that place is unreal. The first time I pulled from beneath the tower and saw the track, stadium seating etc, overwhelming. The staff was very courteous and kept things running smoothly, hats off to them.

Thanks to Dennis Barker and Steve Bimbi with NickeyChicago, Bob Ashton with MCACN and Tamri with MK Insurance who provided food, drinks and other assistance when needed.

Of course thanks to everyone who attended, hope each and everyone, whether racing, showing or just watching, had a good time.

A couple of highlights for me, one, of course watching Rob and Jon go head to head in the ’69 and 2010 Cameras, and two, one of the last races of the day, Jim Parks going up against Howie’s hired gun in Kim’s Gibb Camaro. Though both were told not to go under 10.00ET, we all knew what was about to happen. As Jim’s car shot out of the hole, so did Kim’s car with the frontend in the air. As it settled down, we watched as both drivers hit their shiftpoints, running side by side. As they crossed the line, the boards lite up with a 9.64 to a 9.98.

A couple of posts have mentioned SCR15. Well, thanks to the great turnout of cool cars, both racing and in the show area, RT 66 has extended an invitation for us to return in 2012. What is really neat about this, in 2012 both the SCR and RT 66 will be celebrating their 15th anniversaries, and RT 66 would like to do some sort of nostalgia event(s) to commemorate this milestone.
