Hey, y'all--

I know this thread is ~8 years old... I was just googling Carl Dwiggins and ran across it. Reminds me of a story...

I had read about Carl in Musclecar Review, and was in college in NC around 1991. One day I called Village Motors and asked Carl if I could come look at his cars. He said, &quot;come on down!&quot; Keep in mind, this was not a museum, it was a personal collection.

Shortly before I arrived (from halfway across the state), Carl's wife had a minor car accident (she was OK), so Carl was a little busy, but took some time to chat with me. Then his son-in-law, Bruce, gave me a lengthy tour. After a while, Bruce said he had to get back to work, but I should make myself at home and take all the time I wanted!!! He must have had 200+ cars, plus parts, in 3 huge warehouses, and he just turned me loose!

Here it is, 20+ years later, and I'm still amazed! What great folks!

Anyway, that's my story.
