Car is for me, a keeper, it took a lot of research to find the original driveline (rear end is likely gone forever). Car had only 4K miles on it until 2001, where it was driven up to 2005 when I bought it with another hemi in it.

What is cool about the car is it has been drag raced since it was new in southern IL, and was raced at Indy's track too. The first owner was a loyalist to sox and martin and followed them around. His girl friend (their car club was called the hoky racers) actually would net better times than he would. She drove it like she stole it and is still around today (he is deceased). Then he got a 69 429 boss, and sold the car to a chap that owned the Kentucky Colonel Hemi altered wheelbase car. He drag raced it for a while, then plucked the original motor out (4K miles), had Wayne County speed shop (of Chrysler fame) balance it with their good tricks (not their bad tricks), then installed it in a new 70 duster. He never got the duster to 'steer right', so it eventually got removed and stored away, with a fresh rebuild on it (the duster never went down the track).

Car is totally rust free and has still the odd fitting drivers door like when new in the picture back in 67-68. I have more pictures to scan, especially with a blue lace paint job it had for a while with the same silver + blue-aqua shade the Kentuckly Colonel had (same painter). It had a super stock hood for quite a while. It always had PLYMOUTH proudly on the doors.

It's definitely is an intimidating machine (which is a good thing). All the Wayne county speed shop aspects are still in the motor (ahead of their time). I still tell myself the front tire is off the ground (barely) in that old launch picture. That is a lot of weight to get off the ground, which is impressive.
