you almost doubled what you paid for it in 4 years? wow, you can sure say you did well. 74 was a tough time to sell a muscle car too. No one wanted em .. They were giving em away..

Well.
I bought the car new in March 1970 at Baldwin Chevrolet. I was going back and forth, trying to make up my mind between a Boss 302 and an Z and then finally a Sunoco commercial, which was a helicopter view of Mark Donahue tooling around a road course (with sound) came on TV and made up my mind and I was down the block to Baldwin Chevrolet, whom I knew had about a dozen left over 69's on the lot. I didn't care for the new (1970) body style. There was only one on the lot that had an Endura bumper and that's the one I bought. I'd hate to think of what equipment the other's might have had (cross ram. JL8, who knows..?)but all I knew was that I wanted the Endura bumper, which also was my fav color,Cortez silver. When the salesman/owner (Ed Simone)pulled the paperwork on the car he found that it was an ordered car that was sent up to Motion for headers, carb reject, igition re-curve and "custom" spark plug wires, but apparently the original deal fell through and the car was never delivered. Well I bought it that day for $3208, out the door. The picture I posted was taken in 1974, the day I sold the car when we bought our first house!
I sold it for $6000 and figured I did real good on the deal. BTW, car had 4300 miles on it when sold...
