There were a number of factors that led to the low selling price. First, the car while it appears nice enough really needs to be restored if you are going to show it. With frame offs approaching and sometimes surpassing six figures that was one factor. Another issue was that the car does not have its original motor which impacts the value a great deal on these cars. Third the seller wanted to sell and the car went on the block late so that usually does not favor the seller.
BTW, the Tim Thorpe car was an unrestored convertible. It is now owned by a good friend of mine and the car is unreal!
