Re: Gobi Yenko Deuce finds its way to EBaY
Doesn't look too bad to me either...in fact, it looks like a super resto candidate I'd love to own. So it doesn't have a protecto plate, who cares? How many other Deuces do? Less than a handful I bet. It's got the original window sticker, old pics, is on the sheets, has a good body, and even though the motor/trans/rear aren't original it's still a complete and pretty dang solid car.
Sure it would be great to have the "born-with" driveline and paint nice enough to go out and wax on tomorrow afternoon, but if you want one, you take what you get, and this certainly doesn't look like a bad car in the grand scheme of things. I also totally dig the fact that it's a Gobi Beige 4 speed that's essentially been an "unknown" car for years too. How often do you ever see a beige Deuce? Marlin's is about the only one I know of that's fully restored and out in the public eye. Say what you will, but I think it's a good looking color, and a rare one at that. As the old saying goes... show me the next one. I don't know what it'll do in the long run, but I think there are alot of cars a lot less cool and a lot less rare than this one that sell for way more than where this one's at right now.
