Default Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan

I would have figured more also, but as long as it's reliable. We built a 427 about 15 years ago using stock 3/8ths rods, factory comp 11-1 TRW pistons with BONE STOCK 840 heads and a roller cam. The son of gun put out just over 550 HP at 7000 using an Edelbrock victor manifold and a 1050 dominator. Our car weighed just at 3000 lbs and ran low 10.20's at 130 mph. Love the 427's. I have the 077's on my 427 (430hp) superstock motor, which are good heads if done correctly. That motor put out 772 with a very mild porting job per NHRA Volume specs. The 401 heads are the way to go, so if anyone wants a set of 077 heads complete you know where to find me. I want the 401 heads... Brian Oakes and few others are making 850-900 plus HP with their 427's, but are running the 401 GM head
