Default Re: 69 Camaro Burned up Today Outside of St.Louis

That is a shame, The trailer looks to be the u-haul rental types, so it appears the u-haul was pulling the Camaro on an open trailer (slide 20). Since that is a dvided highway, did the semi run into the back of those cars?

yes it did (did some more reading)

(KMOV) -- Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident Friday on Interstate 64 near New Baden, Ill.

Illinois State Police said at about noon two vehicles were slowing or stopped near a construction zone when they were hit by a semi that exploded in flames.

A pick-up truck pulling a trailer, a tractor trailer, a U-Haul box truck pulling a trailer, an SUV and a flatbed semi-truck were all involved in the wreck. The tractor trailer and the U-Haul trailer were fully engulfed in flames.

The man driving the tractor trailer was air lifted to a St. Louis area hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the flatbed semi-truck had minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. A witness told News 4 that a family of 4 who were in the SUV were able to get out safely.

Another witness at the scene told News 4 a tractor trailer was in the left lane and the U-Haul truck was in the right hand lane pulling a flatbed with a car on it.. The semi started to move over, and the witness said they think the semi driver did not see the flatbed and clipped it, starting the accident.

Westbound traffic on I-64 was stopped for a time, but all lanes are now open
