Dave, I've been at vettfest where there have been 7 Lemans blue 69 Camaros done by the best shops in the country, and all were slightly different. And if you had a unrestored original to set with them, you'd have probably had 8. Even when new, remember that GM used 3-4 pnt suppliers R&M, ditzler, dupont, and acme. They didn't all match from new, and when you had to try to match a color back then you might go through all 4 to find the right one.
Cortez silver is even more difficult as it UV bleached out pretty quick.
There's not much left to get a good scan off. I don't remember if we scanned the inside of my 69 Chevelle and then tinted it around, or if it was a different car. The clear coat makes the silver much deeper, and stops the UV bleed out.
