Re: 69 Camaro. What's it worth?
The ad reads:
“Superb car that received an extensive restoration in 2004 and has been rarely driven since. A large folder of receipts is present documenting the restoration.”
In reality it was probably a parts car that was heavily schmutzed in 2004.
Undercarriage: missing parts, dirt, grease, bashed oil pan and crossmember. Heavy under coating makes me wonder what is under it. Cheap tires & exhaust system. What about the 10 bolt axle with ho-made brake lines?
Engine bay: same story. Missing splash shields, RS washer solenoid [!] & reserve tank, wrong master & PS pump. Aftermarket parts everywhere. Flat black slobbered over the master & booster.
Body: close up of the wavy rear body panel shows poor paint finish. Why not fix the rusty trunk floor? Crumbling quarter glass seals. Don’t care for bad Z/28 striping with SS hood but that’s me. Tag looks ok and lines up with VIN, probably real.
Interior: presentable. Busted heater control, cut-up kick panels, aftermarket sound system. Missing front seatbelt retractors. Could have vacuumed for the photos.
Based on what I can see I would be very concerned about the quality of the workmanship.
IF it runs and drives ok, trunk floor isn’t too bad and rest is structurally sound, already at full price. Probably needs work and money to make it roadworthy. Fixing everything almost out of the question.
