Default Re: Corvette Rally Wheel Restoration

A wheel for your car would have had, most likely, A LOT of green tint in the paint. It would have had runs/slags as there was minimal care taken to prevent it.

When the argent was applied to the front, the paint continued through the openings right on to the black back and created substantial coverage.

One brand of wheel weights was Micro. No metric sizes were used and there was a pink color applied to indicate location and/or size.

The PICS shown are from original tires, wheels, weights and valve stems. In my opinion, they indicate what a factory fresh wheel would have looked like exiting the assembly plant. The wheels are, however, RESTORED. There is never a better example than an original, non restored component in good condition to give the best example of 'how it was' in the day.

Regards,

Mark
