I am no spokesperson for Legendary Auto Interiors. But I can honestly tell you that when LAI introduced there newest door panels at Chevel-Abration 4 years ago for 1970-72 Chevelles we were all blown away. As you said....its been roughly 7 years ago. Things have changed for the better. If you were to personally install one of these LAI door panels on, I bet you would be very impressed by there very high quality and fit.
