Yesterday, I spoke to Darrell Davis, a retired Chrysler Exec., who convinced Chrysler that he should take all records associated with the early Max Wedge and Race Hemis. He has a very nice collection himself and has been a big help with the research on my '62 Super Stock Plymouth. His
books are very informative in helping to ID, authenticate, and educate on all things Max Wedge and Race Hemi for Dodge and Plymouth.
I showed him the Swedish magazine article and he had this to say:
"
Hello Sam:
I knew Jack FiveaIsh who owned Hill Kelly Dodge in Pensacola. I believe that his daughter still runs it and still owns it. I had heard about this car but didn't have any information on it. I looked and haven't shipped any book to Sweeden although Galen may have sold one to him.
By my records the first Dodge Ram Charger equipped car was shipped on May 8th, then two were shipped on May 9th, two on May 10th and four on the 11th. That would make 9 shipped before the 14th which was a Monday. Five were shipped on that day so I would guess that it is between number ten and fourteen depending on its line position.
Best regards,
Darrell "
