Default Re: WIW--OPINIONS WANTED

In the last 12 months I have sold off 350k in collector cars in order to complete the construction of our new home. I would have liked to have sold a few of my cars for 25% more based on 2-3 years ago pricing but the market was and is not going to pay it. My thoughts on the value of yours was based more on the recent experience I have had selling mine.

I had a 1970 Cuda, BS23Uxxxxxx that was completely restored down to the unabody on a rotisserie, many NOS parts used on a 50,000 original mile Cuda. A Ray Barton 528 Hemi and an an EFI was set up on it. Too much to list. Went to a collector in Florida that just loves it. Here is a link on that car, it had been in many Mopar mags., and Car Craft, Oct. '99. Had it for ten years and bought it from Matt Delaney. http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/f...uda/index.html
During the height of the market this could have sold for 100k to the right buyer. I tried hard to get more but the money and buyer(s) were not out there. IMO the market has gotten much worse since I sold it.

Bottom line is money is tight, unemployment is high, credit is squeezed, and those with money are thinking hard as to if they should be buying at all. This all contributes to a real buyers market.
