Default Re: What wheels for our new Yenko

[ QUOTE ]
Neither! As much as I love Torque Thrusts, the fact that they have come standard on new Ford Mustangs for the past several years just kills that choice. Do you really wanna be known as the guy that put "Mustang wheels" on your new Camaro? Not me! Large diameter Rallys aren't a bad choice, and if done right, might be the answer. Remember......wheels just ABSOLUTELY make or break a car. This is not a budget build, it is a high-dollar car that needs something special at all four corners, even if it has to custom-made and exclusive. That just makes the ride all that more special and afterall, that's what people are writing that huge check for....EXCLUSITIVITY! Maybe a modern reiteration of the classic COPO dog-dish look. Body-colored rims (alloys, but painted to look steel) with "poverty" caps. Think about Jay Leno's Olds Toronado with the modern large-diameter billet wheels that are dead ringers for the original hubcaps. That's neat, and he only did one set! Keep in mind, that these new Yenkos will be copied and the stripes added to many already purchased Camaros (clones of clones?). At least make the new Yenko wheels hard to obtain and exclusive.

I agree with Mark and a few others. I think it'd look fantastic if you did some wheels the way Leno did for his Toro.

You could have the Yenko logo placed in the middle of the cap.

Would be incredibly distinctive on a modern car. Don't think I've seen anyone do anything like this, yet it's a nice throwback to the COPO look. (since Mustang killed the original TT look)
