Plus there was a storm on it's way. When you're out that far, you don't have time to get back in, if the weather turns bad. The whole thing was a disaster waiting to happen. I'm with you Bill. I have a HUGE respect for the ocean. My boat is in a marina on LBI, NJ. Lots of fishermen there. Every Summer there is an accident...often fatal...that involves someone doing something stupid. To me, this one falls into that category. It made headlines because of the people involved but, sadly, this type of thing happens all the time.
