The other option is to subsidize American mfg. That's something that free mkt believers seem to resist. I agree with them, if the playing field is equal. Obviously with vast numbers of workers in China that work for very little, an equal playing field isn't going to happen.
There is a re awakening to the quality, and safety of American products. And a sense that we need to build, and manufacture our own products. Maybe if you market your product that way, people will still buy it even if it costs a little more.

100% Correct---------I buy a fair amount of outdoor gear and when "available" I buy

and even though that particular product might cost more ,it always..let me repeat that..it always outlast the Japan ..China..Taiwan..Bangladash..Korean..etc..made products twice as long. So really in the long run you wind up buying 2 to every 1 American made product.....
Short Story and then I'll get off my soap box...I bought an American made car cover for my car..now, it did cost more than the foreign made one but I told the seller the reason I was buying his car cover was because it was made in the U.S.A....He was so appreciative he took money off the cost...the bottom line is you can't beat the quaility of well made American products in the long run----the end

.. oh yeah....very
