[ QUOTE ]
I can see where one might be hit harder (deeper) than the other, but it sure looks to my un-learned eye that the bottom and left hashes of the "E" in BE is deeper than the top and middle hashes. However on the "E" in the Eaton stamp, the hashes all look about the same depth.

My "BE" which has been in question by some, the E is real deep in the lower portion and left on lower case in the E in BE the E in eaton is sideways along the tube, but is also a bit deeper in the lower case, I have scribed them each and type set is the same. Now if a "BL" was restamped they would have to do the E for eaton as well, a BL is 3:07 open, no E for eaton, (hence a L changed to look like a E in "BE" would not match a fresh E for eaton) I still believe the BE was also available counter part and not just specific to the COPO or early YENKO cars. It is a fact the the gears were available before and way after as well as the carrier. My rear is a 10-68 it will fit the first YENKO order, but all parts in my car are 10-68 counter parts, I belive the rear was done the same time all else was. To me Todd's rear looks lagit, but very rusty the upper area seems to be hit hard with winter road grime, typical of the area.
