Default Re: Couple of large 60's vintage gas station signs...

What actually happened to the gas station???

Ah, the old gas station / service station saga... now that's a tragic tale (and a lesson well learned)!

Well, as others may have attempted in the past, I tried to be a remote owner (versus hands on and there all the time) of the "profitable" auto repair business that was there since they built the station and opened the business in 1963.... All the good stuff was there: Massive client list, reliable employees that were there since the dawn of time, etc.

I eventually learned the best way to stop the massive flow of cash out of my pocket was actually to just close the doors...

At least I recouped some of my "business investment" when I sold the commercial property to Jiffy Lube!

What I wish was still there when I purchased the property... was the 10' tall motorized rotating double sided pegasus "Flying A" sign that the owners threw away back in 1964 when they changed from Flying A to whatever the next brand was. I just love those red horses!
