I heard all the horror stories about how these exploded and went through peoples hoods, etc. Hogwash. I had no such experience. This is usually said by the same type of people that say bias ply tires are dangerous to drive on.

I am one of those that has had their fan shroud grenaded and a dent put in the underside of the hood ... twice
the first time was with one of these fans (although mine had green blades) the second time by one of the aluminum versions (AFTER the new paint) ...
Of course I ran the snot out of my car AND it does run a little higher rpms than a hydraulic 454 ...
yeah, and maybe I can't stand the way bias ply tires drive either, but I don't say they are dangerous ... they DO look cool but they DO drive like ...
