It's you & Jerry who are not understanding the numbers correctly, and here's why.
In 1969,the only Camaros to possibly receive the M-22 trans. was the 396/375HP L-78 or 302/290HP Z/28.
They made a total of 20,302 1969 Z/28 equipped camaros.
They made a total of 4889 1969 SS L-78 equipped camaros.(inc.COPO)
For a grand total of 25,191 camaros that could have possibly received the M-22 trans..
But obviously not everyone of them did,as some got an Auto trans, but Chevrolet didn't keep detailed track of that.
So based on that grand total of cars able to recieve the M-22 and of the 2117 M-22's installed between them, the closest ratio is more like 9%,which = 2267-(which in reality is a lil less as not everyone of them received it)
Still a scarce %,but not your earlier quoted 1%,that's for sure.
That 243K + figure Jerry is quoting you is the total production for ALL 1969 Camaros built..i.e 6 cyl., 2dr. coupe & convert. Of which 100's of thousands were ineligible for the M-22 trans.

Good explanation..
