ok, looked at trans. the metal tag reads 3981710wy
tailshaft reads 3978764- side cover 395264
main case 3925661 and their was another stamping that read
555310 so far i believe this to be a...

going to look at a 4speed trans, suppose to of come out of a 69 chevelle, what #'s and where do i look to tell if its a m21 or m22 etc.. thanks...

hey fellas, i'm new here! is there a thread about how to determine a 427 from a 454etc.. my buddy has a motor he thinks is a 427, has a cast# 3963512--conv 1 L8-9
